Which critical illnesses are covered?
This will be dependent upon your specific policy as all insurance providers cover their own list of policies.
Please note however that all providers must cover the ABI (Association of British Insurers) guideline illnesses which are listed on our

Will my premiums remain the same throughout my policy?
That is dependent upon if you choose a policy with guaranteed premiums or reviewable premiums.

  • Guaranteed premiums - These will remain the same throughout the whole term of your policy unless you change/alter your policy.
  • Reviewable Premiums - These are usually reviewed every 1 or 2 years and can increase or decrease within as little as a 2 week notice period.

Can I include life insurance with my critical illness cover?
Yes you can be covered for both life insurance as well as critical illness on the same policy. Please note however that the policy will only pay out once.

Can I insure my spouse / partner on the same policy?
Yes, you can have a joint policy which will cover you both and pay out on the first claim.

What if I have an ongoing medical condition or have a dangerous occupation?
If you have been or are worried about being refused cover then don’t worry, Our partnered advisers have many years experience in arranging life cover for high risk clients. High risk can mean people with dangerous hobbies or occupations or with pre existing medical conditions such as diabetes, hiv, obese etc.
Please note however that critical illness cover is not usually available to high risk people.

Does income protection insurance cover me against unemployment?
No, Income protection covers you against illness and disability and will pay out until you are well enough to return to work or until your desired retirement age. ASU cover (Accident, Sickness and Unemployment Insurance) will cover you against accidents, sicknesses and unemployment / redundancy. ASU cover will pay out for 1-2 years depending upon your policy.

Are you truly independent?

Can I just buy my policy direct from the provider?
Some policies you may be able to purchase direct but many of our partnered brokerages have negotiated discounts so may be cheaper.
